The Argentina Grand Prix of MotoGP has been called off..

Argentina is currently facing an economic downturn marked by escalating inflation.

The grand prix scheduled for April 7th at the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit, which is the third race of the season, will not be rescheduled for this year. MotoGP stated that the organizer of the race could not assure the necessary services for the event to proceed. However, there is optimism that the race will make a comeback in 2025.

In the previous week, tens of thousands of Argentinians participated in demonstrations opposing the reductions implemented by President Javier Milei.

According to the latest official government statistics, a minimum of 40% of the population resides in poverty. Milei has advocated for the necessity of “shock treatment” to address the crisis, pledging initiatives such as deregulation, substantial reductions in spending, and the devaluation of the peso.
