Michigan has extended an offer to Kent State transfer defensive tackle…

The Michigan Wolverines are quickly seizing opportunities in the current transfer portal window (April 16-April 30). Today, they extended an offer to C.J. West, a former defensive tackle from Kent State.

West, a 6-foot-2, 315-pound defensive tackle from LaGrange Park, Illinois (the same hometown and high school as J.J. McCarthy and Tyler Morris), has entered the transfer portal after four impressive seasons at Kent State, three as a starter.

Coming out of high school as a three-star recruit, West accumulated 110 tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks, and one forced fumble during his tenure as a Golden Flash.

Michigan is eyeing West to strengthen its defensive tackle rotation, hoping he can fill a similar veteran role to what Cam Goode provided over the past two years.

With two years of eligibility left, West could establish himself in a rotational spot in 2024 and potentially vie for a starting position in 2025, especially if Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant depart after this season.
