The CFL has fined the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Winnipeg Blue Bombers, and B.C. Lions for going over the league’s 2023 salary cap.
However, since none of the teams exceeded the $5.45-million limit by more than $100,000, the draft order for the upcoming 2024 CFL draft on April 30 will stay the same.
The results were announced following a comprehensive audit at the end of the season, which was released by the CFL on Friday. The salary cap for 2024 has been set at $5.525 million.
Hamilton exceeded the cap by $2,654, Winnipeg by $25,947, and B.C. by $85,979. Consequently, each team has been fined an amount equivalent to their respective overages.
