Breaking News: 28-year-old set to take the court in Game 4 against the Nuggets…

LOS ANGELES — The Lakers may see a boost in their frontcourt depth ahead of Saturday’s crucial playoff matchup against the Denver Nuggets, as reserve big man Christian Wood is set to make his first appearance in over two months.

Wood, who has been sidelined since the NBA All-Star break in mid-February, has been upgraded from questionable to available, according to Coach Darvin Ham prior to Game 4 at Crypto.com Arena.

The eight-year NBA veteran underwent left knee surgery last month and has been out of action since the All-Star break due to what the team officially described as “left knee effusion” (swelling) for a month before undergoing the procedure.

During the regular season, Wood averaged 6.9 points and 5.1 rebounds in 17.4 minutes per game across 50 games. He joined the Lakers as a free agent in September, signing a two-year, $5.75 million contract.
