Breaking News: Raiders Confirm Departure of Promising DB…

The Las Vegas Raiders are beginning to solidify their lineup after the NFL Draft. While they remained relatively subdued in free agency before the draft, they acquired nine players during the draft and also secured the signatures of 17 undrafted free agents.

With the roster filling up, some current players will inevitably be let go. The first to go is safety Tyreque Jones, as announced by the Raiders in a post on April 29th.

Jones became part of the team just this offseason on a Reserve/Futures contract. He entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent from Boise State. Prior to joining the Raiders, he had stints with the Tennessee Titans, New York Jets, and Indianapolis Colts.

Standing tall at 6-foot-2, Jones possesses favorable physical dimensions, yet he hasn’t had the opportunity to play a single snap in an NFL game. Now, he finds himself returning to free agency, tasked with finding his next destination. With the Raiders having acquired several defensive backs through both the draft and free agency, the likelihood of them re-signing Jones seems slim.
