The New York Yankees’ high-profile acquisition of Juan Soto this offseason marked the start of what numerous fans envision as a long-term partnership between the player and the team.

If the Yankees fail to secure Soto, there’s a strong possibility that Steve Cohen of the New York Mets will present an irresistible offer to Boras and Soto. Ken Rosenthal suggested on an episode of “Fair Territory” that the Mets could potentially sign Soto while also retaining Pete Alonso, who will also hit free agency this offseason.
Rosenthal implied that if you’re Steve Cohen, you might be able to afford both players.
