Breaking News: 31-year-old star player for the Cincinnati Reds is poised to make his comeback to the starting rotation…

Following the Cincinnati Reds’ weekend sweep by the Baltimore Orioles, there’s a silver lining as Frankie Montas is set to return to the team’s lineup for their upcoming game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Mark Sheldon of Reds.com reported that Montas will be taking the mound on Tuesday, with Graham Ashcraft and Hunter Greene pitching in the following games on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.

Montas has been sidelined since April 22nd when he sustained a forearm injury after being hit by a comebacker during a start. In his five starts prior to the injury, he accumulated 19.1 innings with a 4.19 ERA.

With Montas’s return, Nick Martinez, who filled in for him during his absence, is likely to transition back to the bullpen. This move will necessitate a corresponding change, potentially leading to a player being removed from the bullpen.

The candidates for this move include Alexis Diaz, Lucas Sims, and Emilio Pagan, with Sims and Pagan being unlikely choices due to their lack of options.b
