A report states that wide receiver Rashee Rice is suspected of allegedly assaulting a man, causing injury, at a Dallas nightclub earlier this week.
Dallas – Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is reportedly a suspect in an alleged assault that caused injury to a man at a nightclub on Monday, as reported by the Dallas Morning News. However, despite this accusation, the 2024 Super Bowl champion Rice has not been charged for the assault, according to the report.
As per the report, the assault took place in the early hours of Monday morning, leading to the dispatch of officers to a nightclub. Following the incident, a man was transported to a hospital with injuries that were determined to be non-life-threatening.
One month ago, former SMU football player Rice was involved in another incident in Dallas, preceding this recent news.
According to arrest and affidavit documents, the Chiefs anticipate suspending Rice for at least half of the regular season due to his involvement in a six-car crash on a busy Dallas freeway last month. The affidavit reveals that a Lamborghini Urus, allegedly driven by Rice, was traveling at 119 mph just 4.5 seconds before the collision on March 30. Additionally, a Chevrolet Corvette, reportedly driven by SMU football player Teddy Knox, was traveling at 116 mph 7.5 seconds before the collision.
Rice, who is currently 23 years old, faces eight charges, including one count of aggravated assault, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury, and six counts of collision involving injury. Furthermore, Rice and Knox are defendants in lawsuits filed by two victims of the crash.
Originally from North Richland Hills, Rice gained prominence following his exceptional performance at SMU, eventually becoming a second-round pick for the Chiefs in the 2023 NFL Draft. It’s worth noting that SMU is located in the same area where the car crash occurred. Rice played a pivotal role in the Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory, contributing six receptions for 39 yards in their triumph over the San Francisco 49ers.
