The Minnesota Vikings have signed left tackle Christian Darrisaw to a four-year contract worth up to $113 million, as announced by his agency and the team on Tuesday.
The new deal guarantees $77 million, with $43.7 million guaranteed at signing, extending his contract through 2029.
Darrisaw, the No. 23 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, has played in 41 games and started 39 over the last three seasons. Last season, he was ranked the sixth-best offensive tackle in the NFL by Pro Football Focus, based on those who played at least 50% of 1,178 snaps. He was also the third-best pass blocker at his position.
In the 2022-23 season, Darrisaw was rated the No. 2 offensive tackle under the same criteria. If his new contract reaches its maximum value, he could become the highest-paid offensive tackle in the league, surpassing the Detroit Lions’ Penei Sewell, who signed a four-year, $112 million extension in April.
Vikings rookies reported to training camp on Sunday in Eagan, Minnesota, while veterans reported to the TCO Performance Center on Tuesday.
