With just days left before the Seattle Seahawks face the Los Angeles Chargers in the 2024 preseason opener, the team has turned to free agency to bolster the defensive line, which has been plagued by injuries.
Buddha Jones is on injured reserve, Cameron Young remains on the physically unable to perform list, Dre’Mont Jones has been sidelined for over a week with a hamstring injury, and although Mike Morris is back, he is still dealing with an elbow injury.
To address these issues, the Seahawks signed Kyon Barrs on Wednesday. Barrs played four years at Arizona before transferring to USC for his final college season, going undrafted this spring.
To make room for Barrs, the Seahawks waived Marcus Simms with a failed physical designation, meaning if he clears waivers, he will revert to injured reserve.
