To say the Seattle Seahawks‘ practice on Wednesday got a bit out of hand would be an understatement. Two-time Pro Bowler D.K. Metcalf found himself at the center of a violent altercation during what was clearly a tense moment on the field.
The incident was caught on camera, leaving little doubt about Metcalf’s intentions.
Metcalf, known for his fiery temperament, showed it again during the practice. In a brief video clip, the 26-year-old is seen striking a teammate on the head with a helmet. The force of the swing/throw suggests this was far from a playful interaction. Fortunately, his teammate was wearing a helmet, which likely prevented a more serious injury.

The reasons behind Metcalf’s actions are unclear, as is what triggered the incident against his own teammate. However, it’s evident that Seattle’s training camp has been charged with intensity and competitive spirit.

Unsurprisingly, the now-viral clip has sparked a wide range of reactions online.
The Seahawks are set to kick off their preseason on Saturday with a matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. Hopefully, Metcalf and the team will channel their aggression toward their opponents instead of each other.
