Super Bowl-winning HBCU alum Quinton Bell made his debut for the Miami Dolphins this past Friday. Bell, who contributed to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Super Bowl victory in 2020, has consistently showcased his athleticism and versatility as a defender.

Now in Miami, Bell is poised for a strong season coming off the edge. He was listed at the top of the depth chart before the preseason matchup, where he recorded a tackle in the Dolphins’ 20-13 victory over the Falcons.

Bell is a key player to watch as the Dolphins progress through training camp and preseason. Sports journalist and Miami Herald columnist Omar Kelly has been impressed with Bell, stating in a recent tweet, “He’s been one of camp’s top 10 – if not a top 5 performer.”

Kelly also conducted a brief interview with Bell, where Bell reflected on his performance during training camp so far.

“I’m focused on getting better and making the most of my opportunities. Every day, I come out here to improve in every way I can,” Bell shared.

After spending most of last season on the practice squad, Bell has a clear goal for the upcoming season. “My main objective is to earn the trust of the coaching staff. I want to show them that I come out every day, work hard, improve, and that they can count on me on Sundays,” Bell stated.

Bell’s journey from Prairie View A&M to the NFL is a testament to his character and adaptability. Surprisingly, the 6’4″, 250-pound pass rusher originally played wide receiver at Prairie View A&M before transitioning to defensive end in his senior year. Bell recorded 19 catches for 259 yards and a touchdown as a receiver.

However, the switch to defense proved to be a game-changer for Bell. In his final year, he racked up 46 tackles and 7.5 sacks in 10 games, which led to the Las Vegas Raiders selecting him in the 7th round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
