Talk about reigniting a rivalry!

However, it’s fair to say there have been better moments in the Crosstown Series, especially since both the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Cubs are out of the postseason picture.

Sure, you could give the Cubs some credit—they’re just 3.5 games back in the NL Wild Card standings with three teams ahead of them. But given their inconsistency this season, it’s hard to see them securing a playoff spot.

As for the White Sox, it’s been a nightmare on the Southside, with the team nearing a 100-loss season. And that pretty much sums it up.

With both teams out of contention, and the sweltering heat of the dog days of summer, Chicago fans are losing their patience.

Case in point: During Saturday’s game between the White Sox and Cubs at Guaranteed Rate Field, what started as a simple girl fight quickly escalated into a full-blown brawl among several Chicago fans.

It’s clear that frustration in Chicago has reached a boiling point.

I agree that fights aren’t good, but this rivalry could use something to liven it up… maybe this will do the trick (though probably not).
