Premiership Eagle Jack Darling has officially requested a trade from the Eagles, naming North Melbourne as his preferred club for 2025 and beyond.

Following weeks of speculation about the 191 cm forward’s potential departure after 14 years with the team, West Coast confirmed the rumors on Wednesday evening.

“The club will now collaborate with North Melbourne to facilitate that request during next month’s Trade Period,” West Coast stated in a brief announcement.

Darling, who ranks second in the club’s all-time games played (298) and goalkicking (532), still has a year left on his contract but has expressed his desire to finish his career at Arden Street.

At 32, he will bring valuable experience to a young Kangaroos team as he aims to extend his career until at least the end of 2026.
