Brisbane’s determined preliminary final victory over Geelong was marred by an injury to wrestler Oscar McInerney.
McInerney dislocated his left shoulder in the first quarter, quickly heading to the sidelines for treatment. In a courageous effort, the 30-year-old strapped up his shoulder and returned to the field, but he clearly struggled with pain. After dislocating his shoulder a second time, he had to leave the game, prompting coach Chris Fagan to substitute him with Conor McKenna.

Key forward Joe Daniher stepped in to ruck effectively, showcasing his agility and skill in front of 93,066 fans at the MCG. While Rhys Stanley won initial taps, Brisbane dominated the clearance count 43-33, with Daniher contributing three clearances.
McInerney was taken to the hospital for evaluation, casting doubt on his availability for the upcoming final against Sydney. Fagan expressed concern, stating it was unlikely McInerney would play due to the severity of the injury. Darcy Fort, who was an emergency for the match, is expected to take McInerney’s place if he cannot recover.
Meanwhile, the Swans are also monitoring key forward Logan McDonald, who injured his ankle in their win over Port Adelaide.
