The practice squad in Foxborough is now full.

The New England Patriots announced on Tuesday the signing of rookie wide receiver John Jiles, bringing the scout team up to 17 players.

Jiles, 24, had participated in workouts at Gillette Stadium on September 10. Standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 220 pounds, he entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the New York Giants but was waived prior to the roster deadline after making two receptions for 41 yards in the preseason.

After playing at Fort Scott Community College and Virginia Union, Jiles completed his college career at West Florida in 2023. He started all 12 games for the Argonauts, setting a school record with 1,255 receiving yards and scoring 16 touchdowns, including a long reception of 77 yards on 66 catches last fall.

On Monday, the Patriots also added offensive tackle Jalen McKenzie to the practice squad. One spot was available after guard Michael Jordan was promoted to the 53-man roster and wide receiver Jalen Reagor was released.

Additionally, the organization has an exemption for converted outside linebacker Jotham Russell, a former Australian rugby player, under the NFL‘s international player path program.

The San Francisco 49ers will host the Patriots for a 4:15 p.m. ET kickoff on Sunday at Levi’s Stadium.
