Collingwood Poised to Snag Rising Star from Port.

Port Adelaide forward Ollie Lord is reportedly drawing interest from Collingwood and Melbourne.

Port Adelaide forward Ollie Lord opens up on 'flattering' trade interest

The 19-year-old, a product of the Sandringham Dragons, is believed to be part of Port’s future plans, but the key-position-needy Magpies and Demons are actively pursuing him, according to AFL Media journalist Josh Gabelich.

Lord is under contract with Port until 2026, having signed a two-year extension last year. With Charlie Dixon officially announcing his retirement on Wednesday, the Power are not inclined to entertain offers for the young talent, even with Jack Lukosius expected to join soon.

Twomey noted that Collingwood has inquired about Lord, while Melbourne has shown ongoing interest.

To address past forward-line deficiencies, Melbourne is also looking at untested GWS forward Wade Derksen, who is anticipated to join the Demons this trade period despite being contracted with the Giants for next year.

Power hopeful ultra-competitive Lord will develop into something special

Meanwhile, Collingwood is searching for a strong forward to complement Dan McStay and Brody Mihocek.
