Cornerback Kevin King made his return to the field with the Falcons this year after a lengthy absence, but his time with the team came to an end on Friday.
The Falcons announced King’s release just before their upcoming game against the Panthers. No corresponding roster move was revealed, but they may fill his spot by activating linebacker Nate Landman from injured reserve.
King missed the entire 2022 season due to personal reasons and suffered an Achilles tear in 2023, making his September debut the first regular season action he’d seen in a long time. He spent five years with the Packers prior to his two-year hiatus.
This season, King played in all five games, recording three tackles and primarily contributing on special teams.
