Fremantle has made further changes to its roster by delisting Tom Emmett, Odin Jones, and Max Knobel.
Emmett was informed he wouldn’t receive a contract for 2025, while Jones and Knobel will be placed on the rookie list. Emmett, selected with Pick 41 in the 2022 National Draft, played 15 games as a pressure forward. His exit follows the addition of Shai Bolton and upcoming draft picks, marking the end of his time at the Dockers. He had a strong season in the WAFL with Peel Thunder, contributing to a premiership-winning campaign.
Fremantle’s EGM of Football, Joe Brierty, expressed sympathy for the 22-year-old, stating, “It’s always tough confirming final spots and saying goodbye to quality individuals like Tom. We thank him for his contributions and wish him the best.”
Emmett joins a list of recently delisted players, including Matt Taberner, Ethan Hughes, Conrad Williams, and Sebit Kuek. Knobel, drafted at Pick 42 in 2022, is still developing as a ruckman and has yet to make his debut. The club plans to re-select him as a rookie after he was informed of his delisting to make room for three new selections in the National Draft.
Brierty noted, “Max has made strides in his ruck craft, and we believe he will continue to improve in 2025.”
As for Jones, selected in last year’s Rookie Draft at Pick 5, he has impressed the club and will receive another season. Brierty commented on Jones’s development: “We love his competitive nature and look forward to seeing what he can achieve with a full pre-season.”
Fremantle currently holds draft picks 14, 30, and 67, with the Telstra AFL Draft scheduled for November 20 and 21.
