Roosters are gearing up to extend the contract of a 27-year-old star player…

According to reports, the Sydney Roosters are preparing to present Lindsay Collins with a fresh contract extension, securing his commitment to the club for an extended period.

Currently contracted until the culmination of the 2026 season, the Roosters, as per News Corp, are engaged in negotiations with Collins regarding an additional extension that would bind him to the Bondi club until the conclusion of the 2028 season.

The decision to pursue a long-term deal with Collins follows his commendable performances both at club level and in representing the Australian Kangaroos and Queensland Maroons.

Recognized as a key figure in the club’s forward lineup, Collins is anticipated to assume a more prominent role following Jared Waerea-Hargreaves’ anticipated departure for the Super League by year-end.

Expressing his commitment to the team back in 2021 upon signing his current four-year contract, Collins stated, “I derive immense satisfaction from being a part of this team. We share a strong bond, and every day we motivate one another to strive for excellence.”

Collins further expressed gratitude towards the Roosters for their unwavering support, particularly during his injury period, underscoring his pride in representing a club of significant importance to him in the forthcoming years.

Additionally, it is believed that the Roosters are optimistic about retaining another key forward, Terrell May, within the club’s ranks.

This development follows the announcement made by Taylan May, Lindsay Collins’ brother, confirming his decision to stay with the Penrith Panthers following the acceptance of a contract extension.
