Collingwood has been hit with another injury setback as 20-year-old ruckman Oscar Steene was forced off the field at IKON Park due to a foot issue.
He had been given the green light to participate in Collingwood’s VFL match against Carlton, but following a foot issue, Oscar Steene may face additional time out of action, pending further medical evaluation.
The club plans to issue an update later in the week.
This incident contributes to an increasing tally of injuries at Collingwood during the senior team’s bye round.
Former captain Scott Pendlebury is uncertain for selection in Round 6 against Port Adelaide after scans confirmed a fractured rib sustained during Gather Round.
Nathan Kreuger, a 24-year-old key forward, has suffered a calf injury shortly after recovering from a hamstring strain. His return to the field will now be postponed by at least two more weeks.
Nathan Murphy continues to recover from concussion issues, although he expressed earlier this week a growing confidence and a desire to make a return later in the season.
After their bye, Collingwood will face off against Port Adelaide in a Round 6 game on Saturday afternoon at the MCG.
