Milwaukee Bucks Eye Former Lottery Pick to Boost Frontcourt..

Currently, Brook Lopez is the sole true center on the Milwaukee Bucks‘ roster. The front office could address this issue affordably by signing former Orlando Magic big man Mo Bamba.

After a one-year stint playing college basketball for Texas, Bamba declared for the 2018 NBA Draft and was selected by the Magic with the sixth overall pick. However, unlike some of his peers from the same draft class—such as Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder, and Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks—the 7′ big man’s career never really took off in Orlando.

During his tenure with the Magic from 2018 to 2023, Bamba averaged 7.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game. He also shot 47 percent from the field, 36 percent from beyond the arc, and 68 percent from the free throw line during that period.

  1. Although Bamba played for the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers over the past two seasons, he hasn’t capitalized on his time on the court. Despite this, his physical tools and outside shooting might attract attention from NBA teams in the offseason, as his contract with Philly has now expired.
