The Carolina Panthers are expanding their talent search beyond the usual draft pool. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that the Panthers are set to sign wide receiver Daewood Davis, contingent on a physical.
Davis, a 25-year-old undrafted free agent in 2023, spent his college years at both Oregon and Western Kentucky. He initially signed with the Miami Dolphins but was later waived due to a preseason injury.
Could the UFL star have a standout season?
However, Davis showcased his resilience by thriving in the UFL this year. Playing for the Memphis Showboats, he logged an impressive 446 receiving yards and five touchdowns in the regular season, earning him All-UFL honors.
While the Panthers secured a new starting receiver this offseason and drafted another through the NFL Draft, Davis adds valuable depth and potential for explosive plays to the receiving corps.
