Alpine has declared that Bruno Famin will assume the role of team principal permanently as they enter the 2024 Formula 1 season
The Frenchman was brought in as a temporary leader after the decision was made to remove Otmar Szafnauer from his position last July.
Alpine secured a solitary sixth position in the constructors’ standings for the 2023 season, achieving only two podium finishes courtesy of French drivers Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly.
The team demonstrated encouraging improvement towards the conclusion of the season, yet they acknowledge the imperative of showcasing greater prowess to emerge as a significant contender against the leading teams in the sport.

Drivers Ocon and Gasly’s contracts expire at the end of the year, presenting a task for their new team principal if he aims to retain their talent for the 2025 season, particularly considering Mercedes’ requirement for a driver.
Ocon’s connections with Toto Wolff and his previous status as a contracted young driver for the team position him as a strong contender to potentially replace Lewis Hamilton, who is set to depart the Brackley-based team to join Ferrari at the end of the upcoming season.
Alpine has recently garnered support from a group of prominent investors for their Enstone-based team, aiming to make a notable impact among the top five teams in the upcoming seasons.
In a post on social media platform X, Alpine confirmed that Famin is now the team’s full-time team principal.
