Swan’s Anxious Wait For Agreement.

Jacob Konstanty’s future with the Sydney Swans seems uncertain as he currently lacks a contract for next season.

The 19-year-old was selected 20th overall in the 2022 national draft, but two years in, he has yet to make his senior debut due to strong competition in John Longmire’s contending team.

“We’ll discuss his situation with the club after the season—he’s unsure about his future right now,” said Konstanty’s manager, Dave Trotter, in an interview with AFL Media’s Gettable.

“He might still have a place in Sydney.

“If not, the Swans have a deep roster and limited available spots, as they want to recruit more players through the draft and have few players out of contract.

“Honestly, if it weren’t for Sydney, there are a couple of clubs that showed interest in him during his draft year. Players selected at Pick 20 are rare; he’s a fantastic kid and extremely competitive—he’s even been told to take it easy during training.

“With those qualities, I’m hopeful that if he doesn’t stay with the Swans, he’ll find a spot elsewhere, which he would prefer.”

Konstanty, a forward standing at 177 centimeters, played 12 games for Sydney’s reserves this season, scoring eight goals and averaging 11.3 disposals and 3.9 tackles.
