Emma Raducanu sets a fresh comeback objective…

Emma Raducanu has been offered important guidance by Laura Robson and Tim Henman as she progresses in her comeback journey.

Emma Raducanu has been advised to prioritize setting schedule goals rather than fixating on results and rankings as she stages her return from surgery. Since resuming competition last month, the 2021 US Open champion has a 3-3 record in matches. Despite slipping out of the top 250 globally, Tim Henman and Laura Robson assert that her primary objective should be maximizing her competitive opportunities.

Raducanu has commenced her comeback positively. The ex-world No. 10 has reached the second round in all three tournaments she has participated in this year and has demonstrated competitiveness in all six matches. Following her impressive performances, she has been encouraged to prioritize participating in numerous tournaments.

“I thought Emma played exceptionally well; she displayed a strong, aggressive game,” remarked former British No. 1 Robson to Express Sport. “She exhibited a lot of confidence, which aligns with her goals during the comeback phase over the last few months. It appears she was able to execute all those aspects she aimed for when competing.”

Having concluded three tournaments within the initial weeks of the season, Robson suggests that the 21-year-old disregard immediate results and prioritize consistent competition. As the new Sky Sports pundit, she underscores the positive beginning of Raducanu’s comeback and echoes the sentiment that results hold minimal significance at this stage.
