Ahead of their Thursday Night Football game against the Minnesota Vikings, the Los Angeles Rams are adding cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon to their active roster. Witherspoon was signed earlier this year to bolster the team’s depth following a series of injuries. He will now make his comeback to the active lineup after more than a month on the practice squad.

Witherspoon was a starter for the Rams in 2023, but as the team looked for improvements, he faced competition in the offseason. However, the Rams have resorted to him as a result of injuries and poor play from other players.

Witherspoon, a Colorado native, has played for the Rams, Steelers, San Francisco 49ers, and Seattle Seahawks. He was cut after 2022 after playing for Pittsburgh for two seasons due to a hamstring injury that limited his impact following a standout 2021 season in which he was a master at creating turnovers.
