Trending: what is your thoughts on Mac Jones to the Los Angeles Rams?…

Rumors have circulated this offseason about the potential trade of New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones, with speculation suggesting that the Los Angeles Rams might seek him as a potential successor to Matthew Stafford. On Wednesday evening, Fan Duel proposed a Mock Trade scenario via its Twitter page.

Fan Duel suggests that the New England Patriots should trade quarterback Mac Jones to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for a fifth-round pick in the 2024 draft.

Jones remains under contract with the New England Patriots for the 2024 season, with the fifth-year option yet to be decided upon. Selected as the 15th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft from Alabama, Jones faced benchings last season in favor of Bailey Zappe.

Notably, Bill Belichick has stepped down as head coach of the Patriots, with Jarod Mayo taking over the position. Additionally, the Patriots hold the third overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and are considering using it to select a quarterback.

Last season, Jones achieved a completion rate of 64.9% on his passes, accumulating 2,120 yards, 10 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. His performance has shown a decline each year in the NFL, suggesting that a change of environment may be beneficial for him.

Trading Mac Jones during this offseason could potentially be in his best interest. The Los Angeles Rams would offer a favorable destination, providing him with the opportunity to serve as a backup to quarterback Matthew Stafford while also benefiting from the expertise of head coach Sean McVay, known for his prowess with quarterbacks.

McVay, renowned as a quarterback whisperer, has previously demonstrated success working with Jared Goff and Baker Mayfield. With Stafford aging at 36 years old and having a few years left on his contract with the Rams, having Jones on the roster would provide valuable depth, especially considering Stafford’s susceptibility to injuries.

Carson Wentz served as the Rams’ backup quarterback in the latter part of last season. Jones’s name is expected to remain in circulation in trade rumors as the NFL Draft approaches.
